Hello!
Welcome to the personal website of Cory Gargas — a biologist pursuing his Ph.D. in the Alverson Lab at the University of Arkansas.
My current research focuses on the systematics and biogeography of diatoms (Bacillariophyta). Future avenues of diatom research I wish to pursue include: population genetics and structure, niche differentiation, and any -omic research! During my M.S. I investigated the systematic position of an obscure terrestrial diatom genus and whether its past morphological placement agreed with molecular data.
